About the ‘Green Council’

Back to Home Page

On Monday, Miss Mitchell from SWAC at South Norfolk Council, came to talk to us about conducting a Waste Audit at our school. On Thursday and Friday we have got to collect the rubbish from the recycling and waste bins around school.

On Monday, we sorted the rubbish safely from the school's recycling and waste bins and weighed the mass of the materials we found within these using force meters. It was very interesting!

On Thursday, Miss Mitchell returned to our school with all our collated results. We took a look at graphs and charts where we saw some surprising results! In groups, we decided where we needed to reduce and reuse materials and also how we are going to get everybody in the school to think green when it comes to waste!

Together, we wrote an action plan which we are going to start implementing straight away. It begins with using our recycling bins correctly ...
